NEWS ABOUT DM ALBUM

Andy Fletcher has been interviewed by the Brat on the official website here are some quick news:

  • 14 / 15 songs ready on the album.
  • End of recording and mixing between end 2000 or mid January 2001
  • 6 possibles tracks as singles
  • Album release in May
  • Tour starting summer 2001
  • More electronic /analogic sounds used

Seen on french magazine D-Side :
"After Joy Division , The Cure, the Sisters of Mercy and some others, it's now Depeche Mode's turn to have a book by the italian editor Sonic Book ; the book always having that square format, have a whole history of the band, some interviews, and very complete discography and the CD that is with the book contains 2 remixes of OWILM by Josh Abraham."

ALBUM PROGRESS REPORT -
November 1st: The band are now back in the studio, and work continues at a frenzied pace during the last three weeks before they turn their attentions to mixing, which will commence on 20th November. Spirits are high and they now have a total of 11 or 12 new songs. The album should be mixed before Christmas. Drummer Christian Eigner joined the band in the studio recently, and has played on a few tracks. Also, that lanky Dutchman Anton Corbijn has visited with his camera.
Other Info: Producer - Mark Bell Extra
Musicians Used - a string section (string quartet, and a solo cello). Knox Chandler (the solo cello player) also arranged the quartet.
Drums by Christian Eigner.
Number Of Tracks (tentatively) - 11 or 12
Song Titles (tentatively) - "Sweetest Condition"

There is also the video that was accompanying "A Question of Lust" during the singles tour on the official site.

Alan WIlder

Alan Wilder will receive an award for LIQUID by the Charles Cros Academy( which gathers important members of french radio, tv and press) in Paris on November 28th at 12:00am. Alan is not sure to be there though.
