more than a party…

Around 17h30 we headed towards the main hall where the convention was taking place , lots of different people were at the convention : russians, italians, germans ,polish , belgian , french (of course) and english people of course . At the beginning of the convention , we could hear Painkiller and see pictures on the main wall of the band members taken by Michaela ,some were known and others were first seen , taken during ULTRa recording sessions , or during the Singles Tour or in backstage of the concerts from last tour … ( those pictures will be quickly stolen during the night, saddening a bit Michaela Olexova )

The night took place , we sat at a table where we all gathered , the first contest was launched with a small quizz with questions quite easy ( we just made mistake on the number of the bong release arghh L )

At this momenet Perrine and Claire joined us at our table , as they left France later than us having gone Friday night to a Indochine concert , it was with pleasure that we saw her joining us J

i knew , most of them were english people. |
| The first poll was made around 19h00 and i
was the first to win with the yellow ticket number 223 who
won the first lot which was made of an ULTRA promo sticker and the
Verbong 2 promo CD given to me by Miss Michaela Olexova.

| Around 19h15 started the look-a-like contest
of DM members . starting by the sosies of Dave (5 people )
two of them have more chances , one having the same hairstyle
and Clothes as Dave during Singles Tour and the other was
more Dave for the Personal Jesus video ( while he kept his hat )
, in attitude and movements the PJ Dave won ( a german) . right after
came the Martin contest with 2 people but one of them had already far
more chances than the other with his look smile and attitude … and
to end it all the Fletch contest with 3 people aong them a young cute
boy with red hair real close to our "best one finger keyboard player

| Here is what Fletch told us:
"Good evening Basildon. Good evening the DM convention. This is Andy Fletcher, the best one-fingered keyboard player in the world - probably. Got a bit of a sore throat. Chelsea are doing very well so I've been doing a lot of singing and cheering. Have a good time, and don't waste Basildon. See you soon." |

We had then at that moment one of the 3 surprises announced for the convention a perosnal message from Fletch thanking us for coming at the convention and wishing us to have fun …

the DJ played then lot of music and the dance floor started to be filled with people ( let's notice that the dear Tibo was one of the first to start the movement J )

At the bar was waiting for us different kind of drinks specially renamed for the convention :

|
There was a lot of other contests during the night where some of the french fans entered in and won some prizes , answering some questions and Quizz ( questions on remixes, and other DM productions ) on a fast way ( Marcus was quite good at that by the way ) some other contestes allowed people to wn quite lot of stuff … |

There was also the karaoke in which some people performed DM songs ( Home / I feel You / It's no good ) and also the good performance of Tibo with his version of "Never let me down again"… but the winner was an english who made a very good cover of "Home" … different tickets have been given to us so we could choose at some time the music we would want to hear or dedicate it to some people… oh i quite forgot the buffet that allowed us to get back some energies J
